Grandma Charnley's French Cookies
1 lb butter - melted
2 1/2 C sugar
3 T flavor (almond is excellent or vanilla, lemon, etc)
4 C flour
5 eggs - separated
Beat eggs whites until stiff (add a little cream of tartar). Mix butter, flavoring, and egg yolks.
Alternate adding sugar and flour (dough hooks on your mixer will make this much easier!).
Fold in egg whites. Cover bowl tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate 12-24 hours. Cook on a waffle iron. Delicious cookies!

Dick, those things look delicious. I'm going to "dunk" mine in Arbuckles strong enough to stand a spoon up straight, but I'll bet you Friday night's duck that Ross will be tryin' to wrap some sort of skinless sausage in them!

Now that would be a taste treat; nice sweet waffle texture cookies wrapped around anduille sausage. How about a nice two layer chocolate cake with melted stilton cheese and garlic salami filling between layers?
