Ross- tightwad home cook
You got it! ...although there was also Crusty Jan's mention of Zubrowka buffalo grass vodka that caught my eye. Man, between that and the Indian candy, I may never go home.redzed wrote:You're welcome to come Ducko as long as you arrive with a semi-load of that cheap liquor you guys have down there.
The 3-day comment reminds me of something that my mother used to say- - after three days, guests, like fish, begin to smell bad. ...but then, the ol' bat never knew about Indian candy and Zubrowka.

I don't have to take the boat up from Seattle this time, do I?

You will definately have to take a ferry to get here, whether from Seattle or Vancouver. Flying in would not be an option, since they would not let you on board with all that firewater.
BTW, I watched the the victory speech a few minutes ago and was greatly disappointed that the President failed to even mention the calamity of rising pork prices and any plan to tackle the problem. That is the problem with politicians, they just don't seem to have a grasp of the real issues that we ordinary folk are faced with on a daily basis!

I guess I could do what we did on a large construction project, about 20 years ago- - load up a metal shipping container full of booze, seal it shut, and weld it to the deck.
Our project construction team had ordered four package boilers from a manufacturer in the UK, supposedly to save time. We got a radiogram in the middle of the night from the captain of the ship, notifying us that they were in the midst of a storm, the ship was struggling, and that they were going to cut loose our boiler, which had been loaded on deck.
We radioed back that it was welded to the deck.
It came in a bit later, saturated with salt water. The project group was under the gun, late for startup, so management made the decision to fire it up anyway. We did. All the firebrick fell out, followed by the corroded firebox tubes, setting us even further behind than if we had repaired it properly. ...and, of course, the construction crowd got bonuses and promotions for having delivered on time, while we took the production hit.
So, tell you what- - I'll stay here, drink up the booze, and project an on-time arrival for Jan & friend. You guys go ahead. And if your smoking equipment's internals all fall out, or worse, if YOURS fall out...
