It is truly fantastic to live in Alberta, the land of oil and money. We have only winter blizzards, -40 temps. None of these coastal storms to give a rat's patoot about!!! My nephew lives in DC, so he may have a very different problem than what I could ever perceive. Good luck to those of you on the coastal areas that may get their azzes kicked.

Ol' pal, your cured pork looks incredible! Just right for a pot of beans eh?
I've been "lost" for a day (church work) but have kept up with the storm tracking. Wow, lots of damage already. Eight people killed and 3 million without power. Lots of streets underwater. Our prayers and hopes and wishes are with everyone on the eastern seaboard. Hang in there pal.
Best Wishes,

Lost power yesterday at about 6:30 and started the generator. Shut it down about 10 and went to bed. Back up and running today. No damage to be seen from here.

The total of the storm damage at my place.
I think that this blew in from our northern neighbors.

I wonder how our other folks are doing up the coast and inland too.

Hi C.W.
I'm on the west side of lake Michigan, yesterday we had few clouds, and 20 to 30 miles/hr. wind, gusting to 40 mi./hr. Just enough to mess up my raking of leaves.
Today it's quieter.

The islands along the Jersey shore were very badly battered. There are about fifty miles of subway track under water in NYC. Many of the utility tunnels are flooded and the power distribution stations underground are shut down. Many very large trees down. At least fifty people killed.
