Looks like we have a storm coming up the coast. I need to buy propane for the genny before I need it. Only have two full bottles and have a couple of spares to fill. Most important is to keep the freezers running. Not cold enough to need the furnace. We are on municipal water and sewerage. Just finishing up a job this week and have postponed some of the work for early next week.

Ray I think that your wife will tell you that she is glad to live on the left coast when she gets home. This storm is still 700 miles away and we can see the outer bands of it. The scary part is that when it gets to 39 degrees north it is expected to turn left and come ashore. We are at 39°27' North. happy days are here again.

I've been to Hawaii, Mexico, and British Columbia about 8-9 times each. I've never been east of Houston , TX and have only seen snow maybe a dozen times in my entire life, can't say I liked the stuff. My wife has been around the world a half dozen times and lived in Chicago for a decade 30 years ago, she tells me I wouldn't like the east coast and I believe her. I'll see New York City when we take a trip to Italy that we're planning, spend maybe three days in the Big Apple, that'll be plenty and it wiil be springtime. The SF bay area was a great place to grow up and a great place to work construction, never too hot or too cold. Where we live now is two hours to the Pacific Ocean, two hours to the Sierra's, no traffic jams, absolutely love it. Take care, and hope you got that propane! RAY

Ross, what was it that the ol' sea-goin' cowboy said? Something like.... "SAIL WEST YOUNG MAN!".
Hop on a plane and fly out here. I'll let you paddle my canoe in the GSL while I take Nancy out dancing!

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it probably needs more time on the grill!

Naw.... RayHorse, You`re thinkin` about "Go Race" Heeley - a second-rate trumpet player in a third-rate Boston benzinery band! He was the old jackeroo who told a troop of terrible trombonists to "go the heck west young men", after he heard them play in five different keys all at the same time! That would have been Horace Greeley, and he didn't do much sailin' to my recollection.

Ross, My best wishes that the storm passes you by.
We get a lot of cyclones here in the north of Oz, and the apprehension at their approach is really intense. Hope it all slow down and leaves you in peace. Lots of luck
Best wishes Ursula

Storm, so far so good. Baked two pumpkin pies today. makes cooking less imperitive. Gonna try stuffing some rigatoni with some chaurice sausage tomorrow by means or the Russ/Ross sausage stuffer. I shall cook the pasta first and chill it, fill it with the mince, pack it into a baking dish and add sauce, top with cheese and bake. We are expecting power failures but we cook and heat with natural gas and have an auxillary genny.
