Sick Day

After getting home from Las Vegas my wife and I are both a bit sick today, she with a sore throat, I've got a head full of snot. It had to be about the smokiest place I've ever been, every dealer and cab driver was coughing, 90% of the players seemed to be sucking on a face-fuse constantly. We're never going there again! Now I'm spending the entire day playing on the computer; here, e-mail, youtube, and using the gift card to Amazon that I got for Xmas. Next week I'll receive a load of CD's by BB King, Bobby Blue Bland with the Duke Ellington orchestra, Ray Price and Willie Nelson, Etta James, even some Count Basie doing the One O'clock Jump. Maybe I'll play them nice and loud when driving around in my truck with the windows down. When I pull up to a stop-light youngsters will be exposed to a time when entertainers used to know how to carry a note and musicians knew how to read music, as opposed to someone loudly swearing into a microphone these days. Just a thought, I'd better go watch some TV now, maybe have a bowl of soup. RAY

Ray, you wrote...

Ray, just do what I do... just install a "sub-woofer" behind yer` saddle, then feed your ol` hoss plenty of mosasses, beer, a couple of bowls of Mama Maria`s hot chili, a few pickled eggs, half a bale of green hay, a little Ex-Lax, and a couple of shots of black jack straight up. Make sure their windows are open as you wedge ol` sparkplug in between the stoplight and the car full of inconsiderate, swearing, 90-decibel, irreverent dudes! Those bass notes are a real "blast"!
