Planetary/Stand Mixer Capacity

Post by salami dom » Fri Jun 30, 2023 05:01

Hi guys

For those who use a stand/planetary mixer (like a kitchenaid) for mixing your meat, how far can you fill the bowl before the machine struggles?

I have a 30L planetary mixer with a paddle attachment. I'm guessing it could do about 10kg comfortably. Maybe 15kg. But would be good to hear from anyone with experience using these types of mixers regularly!

If you have a 30 l planetary mixer and are worried about capacity, you definitely have a first-world problem ;)

I find that 50% of nominal capacity is generally the limit. Go beyond that, and things tend to spill over. But that's with a 6.7 l mixer, not a 30 l one :)
