Bought a new 2.6 HP 2000W CUISINPRO Electric Meat Grinder for to do some moose sausages.Gound up about 50 lbs of moose and the damn thing quit on me.Started to smell a little bit but thought that was normal because it was new but after a while it just started tripping out even with no attachment added.Thought the reset switch was supposed to protect the motor but something screwed up.Anyway was just wondering if anyone else had a a problem with these grinders and or could suggest a decent one.I emailed the ebay seller(cuisinpro) but haven't heard from them yet.

Hi Revid,
Personally I think that you should demand a refund/cash back, if you paid by credit card, go to your bank for a transaction reversal.
Looking at the mincer on ebay, I have my doubt about 2.6 HP. It looks like a cheapy, sold in chain stores here everywhere. I owned a similar mincer and it lasted for just over 14 kilo of normal mincing. I demanded and got a refund quicksmart.
A quality machine of 2.6 HP should weigh heaps and outlast you and your grandkids.
Tell them to shove it. Then ask the forum members what quality mincers are available in your neck of the woods.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Jan.

A 2.6 hp motor should draw at least 16 amps at 120 volts. That calls for a 12 gage power cord.

well it certainly doesn't have that, still no word from them yet but I am pissed .Had all my meat and stuff ready to go then had to freeze everything. So whats the deal with watts, they have one 2000 watts-2.6 hp and another 3000watts-3hp.That must be just a gimmick or something.

One HP equals 760 watts. and a three hp motor will weigh close to one hundred pounds.

Hi Revid,
Just to come back to the weight of the mincers. I bought a #22. All stainless. 850 Watts. It's weight is 36 kg and got balls. I am only hoping that it outlast me and my grandkids.
Send me your email address and I will forward a picture with specs to give you some ideas.
Regards,
Jan.
