I've had purebred dogs all my life and dealt with a few breeders, the one I got my English Springer Spaniel from is still a good friend to this day. The phrase "female dog" is somewhat of a oxymoron due to the fact that the word "dog" in itself denotes the male of the canine species. I do not think of or refer to human females as "bitches", that's demeaning ghetto talk, wouldn't make my wife very happy either .I think of and refer to human females as "women"! I call my Boo a bitch because that's what she is, check it out. RAY

bitch [bich] Show IPA noun

1. a female dog: The bitch won first place in the sporting dogs category.
2. a female of canines generally.

dog [dawg, dog] Show IPA noun

1. a domesticated canid, Canis familiaris, bred in many varieties.
2. any carnivore of the dogfamily Canidae, having prominent canine teeth and, in the wild state, a long and slender muzzle, a deep-chested muscular body, a bushy tail, and large, erect ears. Compare canid.
3. the male of such an animal.

We did the cog railroad up Pikes Peak a few years ago - need to have faith in those cogs going up that slope :!:

Hey Shuswap, be sure to check out the trivia about Pike's Peak at this link in the new guys section: http://wedlinydomowe.pl/en/viewtopic.php?p=26792#26792
If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it probably needs more time on the grill! :D

It's only about 300 air miles, as the duck flies (commercial!), from the summit of Pike's Peak to the stack on the smoker in Chuckwagon's back yard. As the duck DRIVES, however, it's closer to 600 miles. (That's a lotta cogs and potholes and hairpin turns, so be careful.)

Hey! Look-a-there! You can practically see him now, out in the back yard, making shoo-away motions. No! Wait! Is that a grease fire? Better keep an eye on stack temperature as well as that IMT, oh mustachioed one. (Actually, visibility is about 200 miles on a clear winter day, but you could probably see the smoke.) Looks like he's yelling something, now. Is that "Pike Speak," perhaps? (Eeewww!)

Pikes peak max grade is 25%,which is our average grade and we have a max of 37%.This means approximately one foot of elevation for every 3 feet forward.

In the theater of my mind, at a 37% grade, the question arises as to the length of the cog railway line?

Ross, come on over and we can gather all the oysters you can eat! No charge! But if you are wanting to eat oysters for that special reason, you have to swallow them raw. Image

That idea is a myth. I ate 2 dozen oysters one night and only 3 of them worked. ;-) I love raw oysters.
